  • Number of Questions: 1- General Studies : 100 (200 Marks), 2- CSAT : 80 (200 Marks)
  • Total Paper : Two [General Studies (Merit) + CSAT (Qualifying)]
  • Duration: Total 120 minutes will be allowed in each paper.
  • Type of Questions : Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only
  • Total Marks : 400 Marks
  • Marking Scheme: One mark is awarded for the correct answer. An additional 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer under negative marking.

Q 1- How many questions will be there in IAS Pre Exam and how many marks will be total.

A total of 180 Multiple Choice Type (MCQ) questions will be asked in this written examination conducted by the commission and this test will be of 400 marks. This exam will be offline based. This exam will consist of two papers in total. In which the first paper will be of General Studies in which 100 questions will be of total 200 marks.

Whereas the second paper which is commonly called as CSAT. There will be 80 questions and total will be of 200 marks. It will be of qualifying nature only. There is a provision of 1/3rd negative marking in both the papers.

Q 2- Is there a provision of negative marks in IAS Prelims Exam 2021?

Yes, extra 1/3rd mark will be deducted for wrong answer.

Q 3- How much time is allotted for IAS Prelims Syllabus?

In this, you will get 2 hours (120 minutes) for each paper in the written examination.
