IPL 2022: Akash Chopra talks about who the Royal Challengers Bangalore team will retain.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have never won an IPL trophy. The team has not won a trophy from key players like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammad Siraj. Expected to win the trophy in the 13th season of the IPL, they were eliminated in the play-off elimination round. It’s the same story in the 14th season. Thus, the team is on the verge of winning the trophy for sure next season.
Virat Kohli, who has been the captain of the RCB so far, has said that he will only continue in the team as the first player of the 15th season. Thus, it is rumored that local boy KL Rahul is more likely to act as the new captain.
Player Retention of RCB
From next year, new teams from Ahmedabad and Lucknow will be added and a total of 10 teams will take part in the IPL. With the addition of two new teams, a mega auction will take place before the 15th season to select players for those teams. Thus, the BCCI recently officially announced that a team can retain 3 domestic players + one foreign player or two domestic and foreign players each.
Chopra Comment about RCB
In this situation, many former players are expressing their views on who the teams will retain and who will not. Former cricketer Akash Chopra, who is currently interviewing a newspaper, also expressed his opinion.
“The RCB team will retain Virat Kohli and Yuzvendra Chahal first. Both are very important players. There is competition for the next two places. The place of the divine reading in it is almost certain. Mohammad Siraj and Herschelle Patel are in contention for the remaining one spot. Both are excellent bowlers. They are in good form. Herschel has taken wickets in all matches, even though he has only played one season for the team. ”
He further said, “Siraj is also a great bowler. Thus, the team management is forced to retain one of the two. With a competition between 5 Indian players like this, I don’t think they want to retain Glenn Maxwell. ”
Devat Padikkal and Virat Kohli are both giving a great start. Yuvendra Sahal bowled intimidatingly in the second half of the 14th season of the IPL.
